St. Robert Bellarmine's commentaries on the Psalms

Our sister blog, Rosarium Aureum, has recently featured a series of posts on the Seven Penitential Psalms, accompanied by the Latin commentaries written by St. Robert Bellarmine.  I have provided my own fairly literal English translation of Bellarmine's Latin text, together with scriptural references and annotations.

I have decided to continue with Bellarmine's excellent commentaries but focusing now on the Psalms of the Little Office of Our Lady.

The Scripture texts (Douay-Rheims & Vulgate) are taken from the Douay-Rheims Bible Online website (see DRBO) but the verse numbering follows that of Bellarmine’s Latin commentary.

The Latin text of the commentary is reproduced courtesy the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (see The Digital Collection UANL.)

The Psalms and Bellarmine's commentary will added to their own page on this site

Here are the Psalms, in numerical order.

8, 18, 23, 44, 45, 53, 62, 84, 86, 92, 94, 95, 96, 97, 99, 109, 112, 116, 119, 120, 121, 122, 123,

124, 125, 126, 127, 128, 129, 130, 147, & 148.

Totus tuus ego sum
Et omnia mea tua sunt;
Tecum semper tutus sum:
Ad Jesum per Mariam.
